Publication Ethics

ICEDEES is an international intellectual forum organized by the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, State Islamic University of Salatiga. This conference is dedicated to exploring the synergy between eco-theological values, digital economic transformation, and the urgency of environmental sustainability. To achieve global standards of academic excellence, ICEDEES is fully committed to upholding scientific integrity and preventing all forms of publication malpractice.

This ethics statement serves as a code of conduct for all parties involved: the organizers, scientific committee, reviewers, and authors. These standards are based on international publication ethics norms that align with the moral and legal principles applicable to UIN Salatiga. Therefore, the responsibilities of the organizers, scientific committee, authors, and reviewers are explained as follows:

  1. Determine the conference title, topic, and scope;
  2. Invite reputable keynote speakers appropriate to the conference topic and scope;
  3. Determine the relationship between the organizers, scientific committee, reviewers, and other parties in a contract;
  4. Respect confidentiality for contributing researchers, authors/presenters, the scientific committee, and reviewers;
  5. Comply with norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights; and
  6. Collaborate with publishers to publish all accepted articles.
  1. Pay attention to the needs of readers and authors/presenters and strive to continuously improve the quality of publications;
  2. Implement a process to ensure the quality of articles presented and published in proceedings, as described in the peer review process.
  3. Prioritize objective freedom of expression.
  4. Maintain the integrity of authors’ academic track records.
  5. Maintain an open mind to new opinions or perspectives that may conflict with personal opinions to advance knowledge.
  1. Critically review the quality of articles, including aspects of originality, methodological validity, and scientific contribution, and present comprehensive assessment results to the scientific committee as a basis for making decisions regarding the suitability of the article for presentation.
  2. Ensure objectivity by avoiding self-involvement in manuscript reviews (either as an author or contributor).
  3. Provide technical advice, theoretical input, and specific recommendations for improvement.
  4. Treat reviewed manuscripts as confidential documents and refrain from disclosing or disseminating revisions, comments, and internal recommendations to any party outside the scientific committee.
  5. Motivate authors to make improvements by clearly identifying research gaps.
  6. Complete the review process according to the schedule and deadlines set by the scientific committee to ensure the smooth running of the conference agenda.
  1. Ensuring that those listed as authors meet the criteria.
  2. Being fully and jointly responsible for the integrity of the data, the accuracy of the research methods, the validity of the analytical results, and the accuracy of the calculations presented.
  3. Declaring funding sources, both direct and indirect.
  4. Explicitly explaining the limitations of the research.
  5. Responding to any feedback from reviewers with substantial revisions and strong scientific arguments.
  6. Submitting revised manuscripts on time according to the schedule determined by the Scientific Committee to ensure the smooth publication of the proceedings.
  7. If a manuscript is already under review, authors are prohibited from withdrawing the manuscript unilaterally without a valid reason.
  8. Making a statement that the submitted article is original, has not been published elsewhere or in any language, and is not currently under consideration by another publisher.
